AUTHORSHIP CRITERIA
Authorship in EJI (English Journal of Indragiri): Studies in Education, Literature, and Linguistics reflects genuine, substantive intellectual engagement with the study. To qualify as an author, every listed contributor must satisfy all four conditions below:
- Substantially shaped the research through study design, data collection, or data analysis and interpretation.
- Drafted the manuscript or critically revised its core scholarly arguments.
- Reviewed and explicitly approved the final manuscript prior to publication.
- Shares full accountability for the research, standing behind the integrity, validity, and accuracy of the presented work.
Contributors, who supported the study in other capacities such as through technical assistance, language polish, general administrative oversight, or financial backing, do not qualify for authorship. Their contributions should instead be recognized in the Acknowledgements section.
Author Ordering and Corresponding Author
Co-authors should agree upon the sequence of names prior to submission. The team must appoint one corresponding author to handle editorial correspondence and ensure all collaborators have examined and endorsed the submitted text. We strongly advise every author to provide an active ORCID iD.
Changes to Authorship
Any post-submission requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors must come directly from the corresponding author and be accompanied by signed written consent from all involved parties, including anyone being added or removed. Authorship changes are not permitted once a paper has been accepted, barring rare and compelling circumstances evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief.
Unacceptable Practices
EJI treats gift, ghost, and guest authorship as academic misconduct. Artificial intelligence tools cannot serve as co-authors, as they cannot assume legal or ethical accountability for scholarly findings. Authors using AI-driven tools during the drafting or research process must disclose this support fully in either the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
Any disputes regarding authorship are resolved strictly in line with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) standards.
